The Plastic Arts field in Israel has been suffering for many years from basic difficulties, stemming from outdated legislation based on obsolete definitions that are no longer relevant to the contemporary art world, to its institutions and activities, and from a lack of awareness to the nature of Plastic artists’ work and their needs. The Plumas Foundation will provide support for an in-depth discussion of issues that hinder the flourishing of the Plastic Arts.
The Foundation works in collaboration with the Visual Artists Association, which has been very active in these areas, paving the way for addressing issues related to the status of art and artists in Israel and improving their working conditions. The Foundation will support activities focused on topics such as public institutions’ obligation to pay artist’s fees, expanding the eligibility for reduced city taxes on studio spaces, allotment of resources, ruling on artists’ tax obligations, and changing the policies and regulations regarding artists’ involvement in the field of Art in Public Spaces, at both local and national authorities.
Project coordinator on behalf of the Association for Plastic Artists: Revital Ben-Asher Peretz.
The Foundation will act to join forces in the Plastic arts field towards solidarity and coordinated action, to create synergy in the efforts of the various leading bodies operating in the field.
