During 2023, we continued our collaboration with the Association of Plastic Artists in its struggle to anchor artists\u2019 wages in public support programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The booklet \u201cThe Association\u2019s Recommendations for Changes to Support Criteria for Public Galleries<\/a>\u201d was published last September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BASIC RESEARCH<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

IN 2023, we began a collaboration with the Marcel Art Projects<\/a> association to develop the \u201cPoint of View<\/strong>\u201d project \u2013 an online database of conversations with artists and accompanying activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u201cPoint of View\u201d project has been established to provide a platform for artists who are or have been active in Israel in the past, to hear directly from them about their artistic activity and the broad contexts in which they work by publishing their opinions, thoughts, world-views, and things they had said in conversations with them via various media over the years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The database is intended for researchers in the fields of art, history, and sociology, as well as students, teachers, journalists and communication people, and art and culture lovers in the general public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ART IN COMMUNITY SPACES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The collaboration with \u201cZumu \u2013 the Museum on the Road<\/a>\u201d continued with the development of the \u201cCreating a Place<\/strong>\u201d project \u2013 groups of local activists for the advancement of plastic art in the community and developing educational programs for the schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Creating Places” is a civic activist forum by Zumu<\/strong>, which defines a town’s artistic\/cultural needs and works to answer those needs. The Forum comprises local cultural activists, artists, and social entrepreneurs in localities where Zumu<\/strong> has been active.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Creating Places” members participate in a comprehensive professional training program, which prepares them to act independently as local culture producers (singly or in groups). The program encourages them to initiate, demand, and execute professional, site-based cultural events with a long-term impact on the quality of life in the community. The program provides the group members with professional knowledge in production, design, communications, curating, and more. They acquire valuable tools, theoretical understanding, and inspiration, as well as professional assistance in initiating local activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to “Creating Places” , Zumu<\/strong> operates an educational program at the local schools. Following classroom preparatory activities, the children come to the Zumu<\/strong> Museum and experience creative, conversational instruction. The program seeks to engage the students in the hope that they will become the museum’s ambassadors, motivate their families to visit it, and be their guides with the help of Zumu<\/strong>‘s play materials. The experience of the inter-generational and communal encounter is a tool “Creating Places” can use to continue the cultural activity in the town after the Zumu<\/strong> Museum has moved to a new location. Long-term, the program aspires to make exposure to Plastic Art in the communal space a necessity and a demand by the public from the local authority and elected officials. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
